FROM THE WEBSITE: "The main mode of searching within the site...is a search on an artist's name."
  • ArtSource
"...a gathering point for networked resources on Art and Architecture. The content is diverse and includes pointers to resources around the net as well as original materials submitted by librarians, artists, and art historians, etc. This site is intended to be selective, rather than comprehensive. For help in locating specific art-related information the *BEST* source of information is your local art librarian... {from the Artsource site}.
  • Library of Congress Classification
A-Z overview of all subjects classified by Library of Congress classification. Example: books on Painting will be classified with an ND prefix; books on photography with a TR prefix, etc.

GETTING STARTED

GETTING STARTED:  Research Strategies, 4th ed., (2011) by William Badke. This book is a great resource for study about the research process. An online abridged version is available, but much briefer than the print version. The print edition can be checked out.

The starting place for your library research is with the "research question." A well articulated, focused question is essential for an effective search of article databases and library catalogs.

If you need assistance in formulating your question or other type of assistance, please ask at the Research Help desk.
