( ASLA) -- Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) currently represents more than 12,000 members and has 47 chapters across the country with headquarters in Washington, DC. Private, public, and academic practitioners have a professional home at ASLA as do international practitioners and members of related professions. Links are provided to state landscape architecture organizations.

The Centre for Landscape Research is a multidisciplinary think tank dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, technology and synergy in the fields of land remediation and reclamation.

This is the official site for the Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Membership and information is provided concerning Colorado.

This site represents an association of educational institutions offering programs in landscape architecture and their faculty. The Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture is composed of virtually all of the programs of landscape architecture in the United States and Canada. The members of the faculty of these institutions are invited to participate in the Council.

The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) connects people to places. TCLF educates and engages the public to make our shared landscape heritage more visible, identify its value, and empower its stewards.

DPL is home to a a premier collection of print and digital materials on western and Colorado history as well as knowledgeable and helpful librarians.

The Digital Library of Landscape Architecture History (DiLiLAH) offers maps and virtual tours of landscape architecture projects around Europe and the Middle East.

The Dumbarton Oaks Garden Archives makes publicly available over six thousand individual pieces of correspondence, drawings, and photographs. These original materials have been supplemented by histories of the garden areas, biographies of individuals and firms, and sections on contemporary art installations.

The European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools exists to foster and develop scholarship in landscape architecture throughout Europe by strengthening contacts and enriching the dialogue between members of Europe's landscape academic community and by representing the interests of this community within the wider European social and institutional context. Its site offers details on the organization and its initiatives, as well as information on its premier publication, the Journal of Landscape Architecture.

Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) is recognized as the founder of American landscape architecture and the nation’s foremost park-maker. National Parks Service site.

The GardenWeb comprise the largest community of gardeners on the Internet. Covering more than 90 different plants, regions and topics; the forums allow you to tap the collective wisdom of the thousands of other users who visit GardenWeb each day.

These collections are among the largest and most heavily used in the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. This online presentation includes digitized images of measured drawings, black-and-white photographs, color transparencies, photo captions, and written history pages. Just a few examples of the diverse content include the Pueblo of Acoma, windmills, residential structures, one-room schools, the Golden Gate Bridge, and buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

This extensive map collection, provided by Denver Public Library, documents a wide range of places, times, and themes, providing information about mining, land use, transportation development, geopolitical boundaries, genealogy, and the exploration and development of Colorado and the West. This includes a significant and growing aerial photography collection covering the greater Denver area.

LandscapeOnline provides information on locating architects, contractors, maintenance companies, consultants, supplies, and provides a useful newsletter for landscape architects.

The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.

PPS has become an internationally recognized center for best-practices, information, and resources about Placemaking. PPS has an international reputation for its work on the design and management of public spaces.

Contains digital versions of maps made by D.A. Sanborn insurance company of 79 cities in Colorado between the years of 1883 and 1922. The complete print collection covers 560 cities 1883-1937, and can be viewed by appointment.

The mission of the Archives of American Gardens is "to collect and make available for research use unique, high quality images of and documentation relating to a wide variety of cultivated gardens throughout the United States that are not documented elsewhere

Founded in 1972, the Trust for Public Land is the only national nonprofit working exclusively to protect land for human enjoyment and well-being. TPL helps conserve land for recreation and spiritual nourishment and to improve the health and quality of life of American communities.
