Reference Sources: Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, and More!: Subject Specific Reference Sources

Do you usually use Wikipedia to get your bearings on a topic? Find even more from authoritative resources using the Library's specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other "reference" sources.

About Subject Specific Reference Sources

While general reference sources tend to be broad and multi-volumed works that cover a wide variety of topics and are great for quick reference, subject specific reference sources tend to focus on a specific discipline or subject within a discipline. Subject specific reference sources are useful for academic research because they tend to provide more depth about their subject matter and often point to other sources.
