Sizing and Scoping Your Sales Communications

The starting place for your sales communications is with an outline of your sales and marketing plan.  Whether you are writing a memorandum or crafting a " Sales Plan or "Marketing Plan. " A focused outline is essential for writing or for effective research of article databases and industry sources. Think about the person or product or business about which you are writing.

  • How much do you already know about your market or your product?
  • What keywords from the NAICS are used to describe your product or services?
  • Is your market covered primarily by Trade magazines or Financial Services newsletters?
  • What personal interest do you have in your market or product?
  • Do you have any strong philosophical or business views about your own product?
