Overview

Public Affairs is a program that prepares students to work in management in agencies of federal, state & local governments.  Public Affairs expertise is also useful in nonprofit organizations & other NGOs. The practical field covers various aspects of public administration; the management of public policy; legislative relations; the budgetary process and finance; administrative law; public personnel management; professional ethics; and research methodology.  As such, Public Affairs involves many subject areas.  This guide leads the researcher to the most commonly used sources, but many other subject specific databases are available from the Auraria Library, such as in education or health, Go to Article Databases and Indexes by subject to explore additional sources. Tutorial: Subject Databases

For a reasonably quick, but thorough set of online tutorials, please see the School of Public Affairs video collection created with the assistance of our former, crack Government Documents Librarian, Louise Treff-Gangler.
