Public Health

This guide provides a sample of resources available in Auraria Library and on the Internet for doing research about the extensive subject of public health. Public health involves the physical, mental and environmental health of communities. It includes assessment and monitoring of the health of at risk populations, formulating public policies, and facilitating knowledge of and access to appropriate, cost-effective health care. Because public health is by definition an interdisciplinary effort you will need to investigate resources from many fields.

Navigating Research

A comprehensive library research "class" is available online for all students at CCD, MSCD and UCD.  Navigating Library Research is an online course available to our students via the course management systems (Blackboard or eCollege) at CCD, MSCD and UCD.  blackboard menu

Depending on your online course system, the students may already be enrolled.  If not, the students can self-enroll.  This course covers all aspects of library research in a modular format.  Students have found it to be a valuable tool for quickly understanding the scope of academic research.

Navigating Library Research is completely self paced.  The modular design lets the student seek out answers to specific research problems.  You can assign the entire course or specific modules.
