Special collections materials are library-use only and must be accessed in the reading room under the supervision of a Special Collections staff member. Access is currently appointment only, and we recommend advising Special Collections staff ahead of time on what you would like to access so that we can have the materials ready before your arrival. The reading room is located on the second floor of Auraria Library in room 230. The doors are locked, so please knock to alert us!
Please note the following rules when visiting Special Collections: Reading Room Guidelines. To summarize: Please wash your hands before coming to the Special Collections Reading Room. Put away any materials that could stain or leave residue on collection materials, such as pens, food, drinks, tape, or glue. Handle with care and keep materials in the same arrangement you found them. You may take notes with paper and pencil or on your phone, and non-flash photographs of materials are permitted.
