The best place to start your research is on the Auraria Library's homepage with Start My Research, which is how you will access the library's resources.
Start My Research can help you find print books, ebooks, peer-reviewed articles, and popular articles. Start My Research has access to almost all the library's databases and so is the best place to start your search for resources. Once you have an idea of what you are looking for you can then search within databases that are specific to a discipline.
Once you are in Start My Research there are a few ways to narrow your search.
You can refine your search by various categories:
For example, if you are looking for scholarly sources you can narrow your results by clicking the 'Peer-reviewed & Scholarly Materials' box.
You can also narrow your search by publication date:
Once you have found an article you want to save there are a few things you should know.
In the upper right corner of the result is a series of four symbols:
1. This is to bookmark the article or book. This does not bookmark it forever, it only works within one session. If you leave the site and come back it will be gone.
2. This is the permalink. If you want to save this article by emailing yourself a link to go back to later, this is the link you use. DO NOT USE THE URL AT THE TOP OF THE WEBPAGE. That URL is not stable and you will not be able to get back to the article that way.
3. This will generate a citation for you in any citation format you need and you can then copy and paste it. It is not perfect and I recommend you double check the citation pattern against the generated citation to make sure it has the correct punctuation and format.
4. This will email the article to you.
