Novelist is a tool where you can access cultivated lists created by librarians. There are helpful tools within such as recommendations based on titles you have read, tags and subject lists and search functionality.
Find book recommendations for picture books, early readers, middle grade books, and young adult books. Use the Advanced Search to search by age, grade level, reading level, awards, number of pages, author gender identity, author's cultural identity, and interest.
On the home page, there are quite a few ways to get started.
First, right at the top, you will find the search bar. This is great for looking up specific titles. You can also limit your search results with filters by clicking on the "Advanced Search" link.
The second thing is the "Books with Buzz" section. There, you will find recently released titles that are generating many reviews.
Next is the "Curated Lists" section. Here, you can find lists of books matching different themes and topics.
Importantly, many of the most useful tools are within a book's page. If you click on a specific title, you will find many pieces of useful information. You could click on the author and find other works they have done. You could also select one of the tags in purple boxes, taking you to titles that also have those tags. There is also a link to Goodreads, where you can read reviews written by the public.
Near the bottom of the book page is the most useful section, "Read-Alikes." This section will show a generated list of titles very similar in content to the currently viewed title. This is a great place to explore and browse items that connect to titles you are already working with.
Below that, under a heading titled, "Search for more like this book," you will find the comprehensive list of tags that have been assigned to that title. These will likely be most helpful if you are trying to find lists of books with specific topics.
