Data Warehousing for Business Intelligence: Data Visualization

Designed to accompany the MOOC "Business Intelligence Concepts, Tools, and Applications" by the University of Colorado System

What is Data Visualization?

It is "The showing of computer data in the form of graphics. For example, the presenting of data using 3D models as opposed to text or formulas. Since graphical data is analyzed by the brain at a more intuitive level than text data, greater amounts of information can be more simply displayed, speeding up the navigation through and assimilation of the information being viewed. Also called information visualization, or visualization" (from Dictionaryofengineering.com)
