What is a Data Warehouse?

It is a "Massive database (typically housed on a cluster of servers, or a mini or mainframe computer) serving as a centralized repository of all data generated by all departments and units of a large organization. Advanced data mining software is required to extract meaningful information from a data warehouse. The term was coined by the US consultant W. H. Inmon." (from BusinessDictionary.com).

arXiv.org (formerly xxx.lanl.gov) is a fully automated electronic archive and distribution server for research papers. Covered areas include physics and related disciplines, mathematics, nonlinear sciences, quantitative biology, computational linguistics, and neuroscience.

DOAJ is a website that hosts a community-curated list of more than 20,000 open access journals. The journals cover 89 languages across academic disciplines. Journals undergo a rigorous application and quality-control process before being added to the DOAJ index.

Google Scholar
The scholarly version of Google. Search for scholarly literature across disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts, patents, and court opinions from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other websites. HOWEVER, there are also many "scholarly" journals and sources that aren't really scholarly. You still need to evaluate your results to ensure an item is truly scholarly.
