LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design)
LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. LEED certification is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability.

What is Sustainability?

In 1987 the Brundtland Commission of the United Nations defined sustainable development as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

How does this relate to the brewing industry?

Breweries such as Sierra Nevada and New Belgium have made it a priority to make themselves more environmentally friendly.
